Bingeing on Netflix is so easy to do isn't it. When a friend of mine was widowed, she spent the next few years watching DVD box sets to calm herself (it was before Netflix) and escape the pain.
It's OK to self-medicate with the tv when you really need it, but if it goes on too long it can stop us from actually living.
I really turned to TV and live court proceedings when I was in deep grief after losing my dad. It's so easy to turn to a habit that feels comforting but is actually disconnecting us. We just don't realise it in the moment. Great observation as always Wendy x

It's like any drug (prescribed ones I mean). Use it to get over the first few days but don't stay on it for ever.
