"Grief isn’t just emotional - it’s a cognitive and physiological process that demands energy."
I knew this from experience, but didn't quite have the words for it before, Sabrina. What a great article!
After Mama Peggy shared our home for 20 years and required 24/7 caregiving the last 3+ years, I kept thinking I was being undisciplined binging on one series after another.
She's been gone just over 2 years, and I'm still exhausted. Grief is a bitch!
Being here on Substack and in the same Mastermind as you the last few months is therapeutic. I'm inspired to connect and create.
I prayer that I remain caregiver for my dear, sweet husband for a LOOONG time.
That's an added tiring factor.
We've always had different sleeping rooms because our bio clocks are opposite -- (we do still have a play room 🤗) -- and he's agreed to call me when he needs to get up at night.

My dear Donna, I'm not surprised you're still exhausted. That's a lot to take on and caregiving is one of the most stressful roles we can take on.
It's a weird tired too. The only kind that starts to lift when we face those difficult emotions and start to rebuild a new reality.
So glad you're in my orbit - we heal together!

Otherwise, I would light sleep.
That's great you've got into a routine that works. Otherwise the sleep impact would be tough!! It's tricky when you're on different sleep patterns.
I hope you're factoring in some TLC for yourself too Donna💜🩵
